Personality type matters: Perceptions of job demands, job resources, and their associations with work engagement and mental health

Abstract This three-wave study examined whether the pattern of associations job demands and resources with work engagement mental health depends on personality types. In a representative sample German workforce ( N = 13,665), Big Five traits could be used to cluster participants into five types: ordinary, resilient, strained, overcontrolled, undercontrolled. As predicted, were associated primarily engagement.
